M Times of transition and loss whether divorce or death often means that lawyers are needed.  We have found at Widow Connection that costs vary greatly for the same services dependent on the lawyer and your circumstance; and their perception of your ability to pay. 

V We have observed some lawyers who perceive widows as vulnerable and they become harmful, not helpful.  Always, always, get a contract that shows what service will be delivered before writing that check or swiping that credit card.  Bring a trusted family member or friend to the meeting. Vet the lawyer’s credentials through the state’s bar association, online reviews, and references from prior clients.
