V You can save a lot of money buying groceries with cash only.  When I’ve used a card at the grocery, I picking up the items we have on the list, but not really paying attention to price.  Funny how sharp a consumer and mathematician I become when I have a limited amount of cash and do not want to be embarrassed or have to leave items behind at checkout.

M Cash for groceries experience is a great microcosm of our budgeting life.  Every category has a limit.  When you hit that limit, you’re done.
