National Widows Day

I’m Miriam Neff, and I’m Valerie Neff Hogan, with Wise Women Managing Money.

M Today is National Widows Day, a day we pause and acknowledge this special group.  Why?  Because God did.  James 1:27 says that’s what people of faith do.  In our country widows may not be in as dire circumstances as those in other countries.  What can our churches do?  

V Educate couples, women and men on finances and stewardship. 1 Timothy 5:8 says Anyone who does not provide for their relatives, and especially for their own household, has denied the faith and is worse than an unbeliever.  That means you plan for the surviving spouse. 

M Take one small step today.  Connect with a widow in your neighborhood.  Just say Hi and wish her a good day.
