M Widows needing legal advice often feel uninformed on legal matters. Result, they’re vulnerable. Sadly, I know of a lawyer who was asking a widow inappropriate questions about her life style entirely inappropriate to the matter at hand.

V It is not necessarily a solution to bring your best friend to the meeting.  You need a wise advocate with you that has your back.  Sources to see how lawyers are rated are the state bar association and social media reviews such as Avvo. You might want one experienced in the area of your need.  If you have a complex matter, get one who specializes in the area.  They will do the best job for you likely and probably more efficiently resulting in a fair price.
