V If you are examining charitable giving options Charity Navigator in an online tool that rates organizations on important criterion such as transparency, efficiency, loan practices, income and expenditures.  It’s helpful to be sure, but another tool is to have a look. 

M Visit, look under the hood, and talk to those impacted.  This is harder and more time consuming, but then you can give knowing you are promoting God’s Kingdom.
