Money And Single Women

M Most of the women in the United States are single.  Never married, divorced, or widowed.  The single woman who has never married and has no children faces unique challenges.

V Her rent is the same as the next-door neighbors, even if they have two incomes. Single living costs are more than half of that of a married couple. In an emergency, she does not have a spouse or children to back her up. She should start young and take advantage of time for her retirement portfolio.  She should keep a reserve of 12 to 18 months of living costs. Yes, that’s twice the recommended amount.
