18 Lean Times Are Learning Times

I’m Miriam Neff, and I’m Valerie Neff Hogan, with Wise Women Managing Money.

M Lean times are learning times.  We often think we need certain things to be content.  Many items I depend on were not invented when I was newlywed.  Microwaves, smart phones, special coffee brewing machines. 

V We are challenged in lean times, when our incomes are stretched whether due to inflation or other causes, to be content with less.  Parents, these are good times for children to see our financial discipline.  For them to see us simplify.  To be grateful rather than fret and argue.  What needs do we see around us that we can meet? 

M God gives us richly all things to enjoy.  Board games and good books for entertainment. Prayers of thanksgiving for what we have.  Lean times can be growing times.
