M No one predicts accurately the markets fluctuations.  Yes, there are predictable trends.  Markets rose at the anticipation of  a reduction in tax rates for corporations.  Low interest rates made equity ownership more favorable.  One certainty is: things change.

V Just as you oversee your living space, oversee your investments.  An important component of that is risk toleration.  Do you need to take cash out regularly or sporadically?  What is your age?  Typically a younger person can have more in equities and count on time to grow that amount.  If you need money soon, you don’t want to have to withdraw on a market down day.
