Financial Fears - Debt

I’m Miriam Neff, and I’m Valerie Neff Hogan, with Wise Women Managing Money.

M We’ve stated before that peoples top three financial fears are unexpected financial emergencies, unemployment, and not having enough for retirement.  Scripture addresses each of these.

V 2 more great fears are debt, and losing money in investments.  Scripture addresses those as well.  Don’t incur debt. Romans 13: 8 If you have debt don’t add to it. Attack paying in down. Our culture encourages debt.  Scripture does not. 

Fear of losing money in investments?  The steward in Matthew 25 was fearful and buried the talent he was given.  Bad idea.  Money in shoe boxes shrinks due to inflation.

M Scripture states diversify and gather little by little and watch it carefully.  And take personal responsibility.  Learn and oversee prudently, regularly, and prayerfully.
