Financial Fears - Retirement

M One financial fear of many is not having enough for retirement.  Let’s look at specific biblical references.  Numbers 8: 24—25 indicates that Levites were to perform services from 25 to age fifty.  So, it’s OK to retire. 

V Scripture also stresses productivity.  Proverbs 24: 33—34 “A little sleep, a little slumber, a little folding of the hands to rest and poverty will come on you like a thief and scarcity like an armed man.”  Proverbs 6: 6—8 Go to the ant, you sluggard; consider its ways and be wise.  It has no commander, no overseer or ruler, yet it stores its provisions in summer and gathers its food at harvest.  Be productive.  Store provisions for later.

M More important than preparations, which are wise, is our trust that God is our ultimate provider.
