Monetizing Jesus

M Earning money is a noble work if it’s done God’s way.  Sadly, some even make money the wrong way using Jesus’ name as the source.  One example is in Acts 19:13-16. The sons of the Jewish chief priest, Sceva, were trying to cast demons out of possessed people in Jesus’ name for their own personal gain.

V That may sound extreme today, but people can still be drawn to monetizing, even a faith-based organization. Good beginnings can be compromised. Hebrews 13:5 tells us keep your lives free from the love of money.

M Profitable work must honor Him first, not seek to monetize. Serve not to build a kingdom here, but to build God’s kingdom.
