Old Money

M Recently the patriarch of an ‘old money’ wealthy family died.  News of his wealth and its sources revealed wisdom.

V While he could have accepted family money to start his work career, he had joined the navy, and completed his commitment having saved $3,000.00.  In 1945!  He married. He and his young wife did not accept family help.  His words: “It’s not much, but enough to get us started independently. We were young, still in our early 20’s, and we wanted to make our own way, our own mistakes, and shape our own future.”

M They exemplify that biblical principle of Proverbs 24: 27.  Work, earn and then build your house and life on that.
