M We recommend that people have at least a will, and most benefit from a trust as well.  The cost of a lawyer to draw up those documents is a worthy addition to your spending plan. 

V What guidance does Scripture have regarding inheritance?  Families are messy.  Consider Jacob and Esau, Genesis 25, the prodigal son, Luke 15, and many other examples. Larry Burkett stated that today some leave inheritance to untrained offspring.  And some spend it all. Neither is wise.

 Proverbs 13: 22 A good person leaves an inheritance for their children’s children, but a sinner’s wealth is stored up for the righteous. To have a wise will and trust is good stewardship.
