Unpredictable income

M Rarely do we think of James 4 as a chapter on finances.  Valerie and I frequently refer to Scripture on stewardship, accumulating debt, and not having reserves.

V  James 4 talks about making plans when you don’t know what tomorrow will bring, for example, spending acquiring debt assuming your income will go up. Verse 14 “Today or tomorrow we will go to this or that city, spend a year there, carry on business and make money.” 14 Why, you do not even know what will happen tomorrow.”

What we know today is that inflation has mushroomed to gobble up more of our food, rent, transportation budgets to name a few.
