V  Scripture says save for the future.  We recommend having 3—6 months of your spending plan in savings for the unexpected.  Average income of 70,000 means 17,000 to 35,000 in savings.  42% of Americans have less that $1000 in savings.  The average American savings account is 4,500.

Rather than be discouraged, just start. Little by little. $5.00 per week.  Seeing a bit of progress is empowering.  Reducing the spending plan and building savings brings blessings and contentment.
