 I’m Miriam  Neff,  and I’m Valerie Neff Hogan, with Wise Women Managing Money

 M  We’ve been talking about the great financial challenges our families are facing.  Inflation and more.

 V We’ve recommended going quickly to our discretionary budget and making immediate reductions.

 We can’t do without heat and cool air but we can modify our ‘comfort zone’ to reduce utility bills. We can halt all clothes shopping, and eating out.  Entertainment can become simple.  Walks in parks and board games. 

 Meanwhile we visit our big picture budget.  If we did not have that 3-6 month emergency savings in place, now we are motivated.

 It is said that we learn more in hard times than easy ones.  So now is premium learning time.
