Cheating widows
I’m Miriam Neff, and I’m Valerie Neff Hogan, with Wise Women Managing Money
M A brokerage’s bragadocious bond trader called himself ‘Fabulous Fab.’ He bragged of selling bonds that were losing money daily to widows and orphans. Yes, he was investigated for fraud. Criminal charges followed, and more dirt was uncovered. I am not gloating over this sad situation, though as a widow, my heart weeps to hear that we are continually seen as a vulnerable target.
V This young man had a greater day of reckoning ahead. Despite the outcome of the SEC investigation, congressional hearings, and court appearances, Fabulous Fab will stand before our Creator and see a replay of His behavior. God will remind him of His words in Isaiah 10: 1,2. Woe to them who prey on widows and rob the fatherless. Justice will roll down on that day.
